Alison is a Bay Area native and has been in the dental field since 1998. Alison graduated in 1998 with a Certificate in Dental Assisting from Contra Costa College. She joined Dr. Gronbach’s practice in June of that year as Front office Coordinator. In addition to her office responsibilities, Alison also serves as the East Bay Study Club Coordinator, a pivotal role for dental practitioners in the Lamorinda area. The EBSC is a local chapter of a nationally-accredited continuing education society for members of the dental community. Dr. Gronbach currently serves as its Director and President. In this crucial position, Alison manages all aspects of the group’s monthly meetings, secures guest lectures and ensures attending members receive proper credit toward their annual continuing education requirements.

Alison finds the science of dentistry fascinating and loves working with patients and partner dentists in the Lamorinda area. She spends her leisure time with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors with her husband and three children and watching her kids play organized competitive sports.

Kimberly was born and raised in the Bay Area. After graduating from the Dental Assisting program at Carrington College in Pleasant Hill, Kimberly began working in a family dental practice. This is where she got her first experience assisting in basic oral surgeries. Although she enjoyed working in a general dental office, Kimberly knew oral surgery was what she really wanted to do. Kimberly joined Dr. Gronbach’s team in 2016 as a surgical assistant and then after 6 years, she moved to her administrative assistant role. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, Kimberly also assists Dr. Gronbach in planning and coordinating patients implant care.

Kimberly says working in the dental field is both very interesting and rewarding. When not working, Kimberly spends her free time baking and cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Joann has been working in the dental field for over 30 years. She became interested in the dental field while attending Albany High School. She had an after school job in a dental office and quickly realized how much she enjoyed working with the diverse group of patients, how captivated she was by the intricacy of oral surgery procedures and how good she felt seeing dramatic life-changing effects improved oral health had on the patients.

Following high school, Joann received her Certificate in Dental Assisting from the College of Alameda, then became Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant (OMSA) certified, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified. She also has her x-ray and CPR Licenses. She joined Dr. Gronbach in 1990, and loves working on challenging cases that require high level of technical proficiency.

A California native, Joann spends her free time with friends and family, including her husband and son, and enjoys camping and sight-seeing across California.

Dina
Surgical Assistant

Dina is a Bay Area native, born and raised. She is bilingual, in both English and Khmer. She started in dentistry back in 2007, graduated from Everest College, which no longer exists. She has a background in general and  pediatric dentistry, and periodontics prior to oral surgery. She is also a caretaker, so care giving comes naturally to her. She had a very close relationship with her late grandmother, so she has a very soft spot for her elders and she enjoys tending to them. Dina’s goal in the office is to make all patients feel comfortable and at home. She is a single mom to a great teen, who means the worlds to her. She treats every patient as if it was her kid in the chair.
In her spare time, she likes to be active outdoors: hiking, biking, jogging, and roller skating. She enjoys cooking, as it brings everyone together for the moment. Lots of her good memories were built around food and gatherings. She is a big advocate for kindness so she likes to spread it everywhere, because… why not? The way she sees it, working at East Bay Oral Surgery is that we are helping the community smile, one mouth at a time!
